More Public Works Items from Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council heard the public works report at their meeting on Tuesday.Public Works Director Dave Flynn mentioned the usual work done in the city including snow and ice removal, equipment maintenance, setting up and taking down Winter Carnival items and more. Dave also said they?re having some computer issues with their end loader and freightliner.
A council member also asked Dave how the city was doing on salt and sand for the roads. Dave said that salt is good because it?s been too cold to use it, but they only have enough sand left for 2 or 3 good storms. It?s also hard for the department to use the sand as it?s rock hard right now.
Another item Dave wanted resident to be aware of is the icy sidewalks. He knows that the bitter cold isn?t helping get rid of the ice, but he suggests that people come down and get some sand to spread on their sidewalks because that ice is a safety hazard.
