Court Dates for Loyal Man Accused of Hitting Greenwood Ambulance Pushed Back Again

Tuesday, February 25th, 2014 -- 2:26 PM

-A Loyal man accused of hitting a Greenwood Ambulance had his court dates pushed back again.

At the beginning of June last year, Kevin Colby, age 35, along with his passenger Angela Colby, age 35 of Loyal, drove through the intersection of H and 73 striking the Greenwood ambulance as it was returning from a call. It was later determined that Colby had a blood alcohol level of .184, well above the legal limit. He also told authorities that he thought he was on a completely different road.

The three passengers of the ambulance were not seriously injured, all though the two EMTs in the back were transported to Ministry St. Joseph?s Hospital in Marshfield. Initially, Colby had six charges filed against him, all of them some variant of causing an injury while intoxicated, but now he only has four.

Colby was scheduled for a motion hearing back in January, but it was pushed back to the final Tuesday of February, at his attorney?s request, as he had more motions to add and wanted to have the judge hear all of them at once.

At Tuesday?s hearing in Clark County Court, the state asked for a continuance in the matter as they just received the motions from the defense attorney on the 19th. Colby will appear in court again in May.
