Clark County Rounds Out Bottom Five in Average Yield Per Acre in 2013

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -The USDA says Dane County was the largest corn producing county in Wisconsin during the past growing season with 29.5 million bushels.The agency says Grant, Rock and Lafayette counties also produced over 20 million bushels with 26.3 million, 23.6 million, and 22.5 million bushels, respectively in 2013.
Manitowoc County was the largest corn for silage producing county in 2013, with 890,000 tons. Marathon has the second most at 863,000 tons, followed by Fond Du Lac, Brown and Kewaunee Counties. Dodge and Door Counties had the highest average yield, at 20.0 tons per acre. Clark, Burnett, and Price rounded out the bottom five with 10.5 tons per acre.
And Rock, Dane, Grant and Dodge were the four largest soybean-producing counties in Wisconsin, with Rock the largest at 3.8 million bushels.
