Frozen Pipes and the CDA Report at the Owen City Council Meeting

-Some Owen residents need to trickle their water to keep their pipes from freezing.This was discussed at last week?s Owen City Council Meeting. Public Works Director, Gary Smith reported that water laterals are freezing up for some residents. Letters were sent out to those residents who need to trickle their water full time to avoid freezing up. On the day of the meeting the library sewer lateral froze up. Also, the council approved to not amend the Comprehensive Plan Preferred Land Use Map Amendment under Resolution #2014-4 and the council approved to advertise in the Community Guide for $190 for a ? page ad.
Finally, CDA Director Tim Swiggum reported that the OW Chamber will be holding their Annual Business meeting at the Meadowview Golf Course. Their special guest will be Alice in Dairyland Kristin Olson. He also said that Highway 29 is developing a Facebook page and the title work has been received for the RR transaction.
