Greenwood's Utilitiy Director Talks Water

Friday, February 14th, 2014 -- 1:09 PM

-As many people are aware, several local cities have asked their residents to continually run water in their homes and business including Thorp and Greenwood.

I spoke with Greenwood?s Utility Director, Trent Johnson, and asked him how many pipes they've had to fix so far and how long Greenwood residents would need to run their water.

'We've had to do six so far. Tentatively, we don't have a date in mind. For a month or so, end of March yet."

Greenwood decided to go this route as a preventative measure.

"It's basically because we don't want it to happen. We have some outlying areas that don't use as much water. A preventative measure."

Trent said he?s not concerned about a risk on the city?s water supply.

"No, not really. Last year, we put 4 new wells online. It's something we're keeping an eye on."

If you are a Greenwood resident and you have any further questions, please contact the City of Greenwood or the Greenwood Utility Department.
