The state Department of Workforce Development reported Thursday that rates increased in 53 of 72 counties between October and November. Unemployment also went up in 14 of the 32 largest cities.

Racine has the highest unemployment rate at 11.2 percent, followed by Milwaukee and Beloit both at 9.4 percent. Iron County has the highest unemployment rate at 13.2 percent. Menominee County has the second highest at 10.7 percent.

The statewide unemployment rate was 6.3 percent in November, which is less than the national rate of 7 percent.
