A Jackson County home was damaged after a chimney fire on Christmas day.The Black River Falls Fire Department was called out just before six on Wednesday night to a home on West Kenyon Road in the township of Adams. When crews arrived, they saw smoke coming from a fireplace chimney.
Firefighters say they could hear and see fire in the wall behind the fireplace and smoke was filling up the home.
The cause of the fire appears to be related to the fireplace, which did have an active fire going. The home has smoke and water damage. There were no injuries. The department was on scene with for 2 hours.
The American Red Cross will be assisting the family.
