Appointments and CDA Report at the Owen City Council Meeting

-More appointments and the CDA Report were discussed at the Owen City Council last week.The council approved the Mayoral Appointments of the Owen Junior Fair Board which consists of Phil Greschner as Chairman, Samantha Thornton as Treasurer, Kim Sybers as Secretary, Theresa Schindler, Wendy Henke, Rocky Lehr and Lonnie Kroeplin. Also presented was the Owen Junior Fair Board Annual Report. Questions were raised about the entertainment expenses of $7,100 and other general out expenses of $10,066.48 and would request that the expenses be itemized more clearly on next year?s annual report.
CDA Director Tim Swiggum reported that the he has been in touch with the attorney for the Family Dollar Store. He was unable to reach anyone at the Corporate office. The attorney is aware of the Zoning issues on the Konwinski lot and Gary Smith has answered their utility questions. Swiggum talked to Jim Louks this morning. The title work for the acquisition of Railroad property is being worked on. There have been a couple inquiries on Owen?s Agribusiness Park and State Senator Terry Moulton visited the Owen City Hall for an hour on December 3rd.
The Owen council approved to cancel their December 24th meeting and they will meet again on January 14th in the new year.
