Clark County Board of Supervisors Approves 2014 Budget

-The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved the 2014 budget with two amendments.The first amendment to the budget the board approved was regarding health insurance. This amendment took $25,000 to use for employee health insurance which will help keep the rates stable for the county and they won?t have an exponential increase in the near future. This passed with all 27 present voting yes.
The second amendment was to take $10,000 from the general fund and donate it to the City of Neillsville which will then be used for the Neillsville Airport. This decision came after a presentation was given by Duffy Gaier, to the Clark County Personal Committee, and then the same presentation was given to the full board by Jeff Gaier on Tuesday asking the county to contribute funds to the Neillsville Airport.
The board first passed a resolution to donate the funds and then they had to approve the amendment to the budget as that would change the numbers. The donation resolution was approved with 17 voting yes and 10 voting no. The amendment for this item was then approved with 20 voting yes and 7 voting no.
Finally, the board approved the 2014 budget with expenditures at $58,686,069, proposed revenues at $41,246,777, the fund balances of $4,090,748 was applied to the levy, with the levy being $13,348,544 and the mil rate set at $7.49. For a $100,000, you would see a county tax decrease of $.42.
