Icy Roads a Factor in Crash North of Spencer

Tuesday, November 12th, 2013 -- 8:20 AM

-One woman has died after a car accident north of Spencer Monday morning.

According to reports, a 55-year-old Spencer woman crashed into a school bus on State Highway 13 just north of Spencer around 7am Monday.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her name has not been released at this time. The woman was driving too fast on the icy roads and snow causing her to lose control of her vehicle.

The bus driver was taken to St. Joseph?s Hospital in Marshfield and there were no children on the bus.

The icy roads not only resulted in this accident, but authorities received reports of over 30 crashes yesterday morning, all blamed on the icy conditions. As soon as reports of icy roads started to come in, the highway department sent out the salt trucks.

The accident is still under investigation and no further details are being released at this time.
