CDA Report at Owen City Council Meeting

-The Owen City Council heard the CDA report at their meeting on October 22nd.The council heard the report from CDA Director Tim Swiggum. Tim said that the Family Dollar is communicating with Konwinski?s and Hanson?s, the old Time Federal building is going up for sale and the Eckert Door building has a potential buyer.
Also, the CWAIC has paid back to the City of Owen a sum of $8,500 that the City loaned them for the startup of the group. The lease will be signed soon by the discount grocery store that will be located in the bowling alley building and Brock Cold Storage has sold their business to Roehl Cold Storage.
Also, at the meeting the council heard that a Railroad contract was sent to the Owen Planning Commission for their review and the council approved the 3 year proposal from Hydro Designs for cross connection inspection services.
Finally, the Council approved to suspend the Woodland?s liquor license for another 30 days and that all vendors including the water bill to the City be paid in full. The council will re-visit the issue at their meeting at the end of November.
