Black River Falls Man Killed in Accident Near Hudson

-A Black River Falls man was killed and his three children were seriously injured in a crash near Hudson Sunday afternoon.

The accident occurred around 4pm on Old Highway 35 at Tower Road in the Township of Troy.

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, 38-year-old Scott Shoemaker was heading west on Town Road when he drove through a stop sign and collided with a minivan that was heading north on Highway 35. The van was driven by a 42-year-old Hudson man.

Shoemaker was killed at the scene and his three children, a 12 and 16 year old girl and a 14 year old boy, were seriously injured, but fortunately their injuries are non-life threatening. The driver of the minivan was also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, but he has been treated and released.

Everyone was wearing their seat belts and no alcohol was involved. The Wisconsin State Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident.
