Taylor County Man Pleads No Contest for Having Sexual Relationship With 13-Year-Old

-A 20-year-old Taylor County man has been sentenced for having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl.This summer, the girl?s mother found text messages between her daughter and the man and she immediately contacted the Taylor County Sheriff?s Department.
The 13-year-old told authorities that she had told the 20-year-old Cody Weinke that she was 16 and the incident was consensual.
Weinke did enter a plea of no contest to a felony charge of 2nd degree sexual assault of a child and two misdemeanor charges of 4th degree sexual assault as well as intention to contribute to the delinquency of a child.
Weinke will spend 45 days in jail and he will also be on two year probation. He must also undergo a sex offender assessment and write a letter of apology to the victim. He?s also not allowed to have any contact with the victim.
