Public Works Items from the Neillsville City Council Meeting

Friday, September 27th, 2013 -- 9:26 AM

-The Neillsville City Council approved several public works items at their Tuesday Meeting.

The city was unable to take any action on the front end loader as no bids had been made on the item.

The council approved the dedication of the HoDag funds to be used for street construction during the public works portion of the meeting and then again during the common council.

There is currently $100,000 in that fund and it will be used for the Grand Avenue street construction and storm sewer work that city is planning on. The funds were dedicated to the city?s infrastructure account. The storm sewer project itself is expected to cost more than $21,000.

And continuing with that, the council approved the transfer of $21,313.57 from the construction account to the storm sewer account for the above mentioned project.

Some other items of note from the Public Works portion of the meeting includes the installation of the new playground equipment at Listeman Park, small paving complete on Grand Ave, Willow Street and East 8th Street, work on street lighting, patching sidewalks to eliminate tripping hazards, and the work on the Christie building coming to a close.
