Owen-Withee School District Scores Very Well on Department of Public Instruction's Report Cards

-The Department of Public Instruction released the school report cards for the 2012-2013 school year.

This year the DPI not only released school report cards for elementary and middle/high schools, but they also released report cards for the districts as a whole. In both cases, schools are graded on four categories and they are student achievement, student growth, closing the gaps and post-secondary readiness.

The Owen-Withee School District scored very well. The district as a whole scored a 70.5 falling into the meets expectations category, the elementary scored a 72.4 falling into the meets expectations category, the middle school scored a 67.4 falling into the meets expectations category and the high school scored a 66 falling into the meets expectations category. The district, elementary, middle and high school just missed the exceeds expectations category by 2.5, .6, 5.6 and 7 points.

In the different categories the district as a whole scored a 69.5 for achievement, 58.7 for growth, 64.5 for closing gaps and 89.1 for post-secondary readiness. The elementary scored a 74.5 for achievement, 63.2 for growth, 62.5 for closing gaps and 89.4 for post-secondary readiness. The middle school scored a 64.6 for achievement, 46.1 for growth, 66.4 for closing gaps and 92.6 for post-secondary readiness. Finally, the high school scored a 58.6 for achievement and 88.1 for post-secondary readiness. Student growth and closing the gaps for the Owen-Withee High School were not scored.
