Greenwood Schools Report Card

Saturday, September 21st, 2013 -- 8:01 AM

The Department of Public Instruction released the school report cards for the 2012-2013 school year.

This year the DPI not only released school report cards for elementary and middle/high schools, but they also released report cards for the districts as a whole. In both cases, schools are graded on four categories and they are student achievement, student growth, closing the gaps and post-secondary readiness.

The Greenwood School District scored very well. The district as a whole scored a 72.7 falling into the meets expectations category, the elementary scored a 71.8 falling into the meets expectations category and the middle/high school scored a 76.5 falling into the exceeds expectations category. The district and elementary just missed the exceeds expectations category by .3 and 1.2 points.

In the different categories the district as a whole scored a 75.5 for achievement, 58.8 for growth, 64.9 for closing gaps and 91.6 for post-secondary readiness. The elementary scored a 72.7 for achievement, 59.1 for growth, 63.6 for closing gaps and 91.6 for post-secondary readiness. Finally, the middle/high school scored a 79.4 for achievement, 64.9 for growth, 69.3 for closing the gaps, and 92.2 for post-secondary readiness.

Jennifer Vogler, Greenwood?s Superintendent, was very proud of the work the district has done this year. The middle/high school was in the meets expectations category and is now in the exceeds expectation category. The elementary also saw an wonderful increase compared to last year. ?I?m very proud of the students and the staff,? said Miss Vogler, ? and the community should be proud as the Greenwood District continues to meet our goals and demonstrate success.?

Congratulations Greenwood!
