The Neillsville School District Scores Well on Department of Public Instruction's Report Card

-The Department of Public Instruction released the school report cards for the 2012-2013 school year.

This year the DPI not only released school report cards for elementary and middle/high schools, but they also released report cards for the district as a whole. In both cases, schools are graded on four categories and they are student achievement, student growth, closing the gaps and post-secondary readiness.

Overall of the 424 state public school districts, 9 school districts fell in the significantly exceeds expectations category, 133 fell into the exceeds expectations category and 270 fell into the meets expectations category. Only 10 districts fell into the meets few expectations category and 1 fell into the fails to meet expectations category.

Here in Neillsville the elementary received a score of 74.3, the middle/high school received a 73.8 and the district as a whole received a 76.9 putting all three into the exceeds expectations category. In the four categories the elementary received a 65.8 for achievement, 76.7 for growth, 68.7 for closing gaps and 86.1 in post-secondary readiness. In the middle/high school, they received a 64.2 for achievement, 57.5 for growth, 86.4 for closing gaps and 87 for post-secondary readiness.

Finally, the district as a whole received a 64.2 in achievement, 72.1 in growth, 85.3 in closing gaps and 85.9 in post-secondary readiness. Congratulations Neillsville!
