Fund 80 Discussed at Loyal School District's Annual Meeting

Friday, September 13th, 2013 -- 9:18 AM

-The Loyal School District discussed, at their Annual Meeting, using the money in their Fund 80 account to purchase a new lawn mower.

Fund 80 is something that all school districts can have and they can use that money to purchase items that will be used not only for the school, but the community as well. In this case, that money will be used to purchase a lawn mower to help mow the golf course next to the school. It will also be used to pay the salary for someone to mow the lawn.

Some other figures of note from Loyal?s Annual Meeting include an increase in their inter-district payments because they are sharing more teachers with area school districts. Also, the district used Federal REAP money, totaling over $41,000, for new Math Curriculum.

Also, teacher salaries went down this year, but support staff salaries went up. This is also an effect of Loyal sharing teachers. The district?s water and sewer bill will also increase which is due to the new agreement reached between Greenwood and Loyal regarding the water.

Open Enrollment also increased by a large amount this year for Loyal as 10 new students were welcomed into the district.
