Scott Suder Resigns Today, Three Seek His Seat in the Assembly

Tuesday, September 3rd, 2013 -- 8:17 AM

-Three republican candidates have announced their plans to run for 'Wisconsin's' 69th Assembly seat.

Deb Koncel of Dorchester, Bob Kulp of Stratford and Scott Noble of Marshfield have all announced they are seeking Representative Scott Suder?s seat. Suder officially resigns today, September 3rd.

Koncel is a mother of four and a widow of the last 19 years. She has served on the Colby school board for eight years, she is serving her third term as Dorchester Village Trustee and she is also the chair of the Clark County Republican Party. Other experiences include dairy farming, EMS, manufacturing, education and hospitality.

Kulp has never held an elected position before, but he feels his experience as a small business owner will make him an excellent state representative. He also is a strong advocate for alternative energy, actively promoting solar power and compressed natural gas as a fuel source.

Finally, Noble is a life-long area resident, former Marshfield Alderman, special education teacher, certified social worker, and long-time champion of limited government, fiscal responsibility and individual rights, according to his press release. Noble said he will focus on conservative issues such as keeping local control of schools rather than the top down approach that Common Core standards forces.

As for when the election will take place to fill the seat, Governor Walker must call for a special election 62-77 days after Suder leaves. This would put the election into November. A primary will need to be held in October, due to three Republicans running for the position.
