Neillsville City Council Approves Long List of Items at Tuesday Meeting

Friday, August 30th, 2013 -- 9:15 AM

-The Neillsville City Council approved a long list of items at their meeting on Tuesday.

The council approved the use of the gazebo by the Neillsville Chamber for their Autumn Harvest Festival in early October. The council also approved allowing the chamber to hang a banner on the gazebo for the festival.

The council also approved the use of the gazebo to Scott Noble. Scott Noble has thrown his hat into the ring for Scott Suder?s seat in the assembly. Noble used the gazebo on Wednesday afternoon.

A new ordinance was approved on Tuesday night. This new ordinance was put in place to hold the parents of children who don?t send their kids to school. The city already has a truancy ordinance, but not one for parents. This will allow the Neillsville Police Department to hold the parent liable and they can even receive a citation if they choose not to send their kids to school without a legitimate reason.

The council approved a taxi application with the county so they can receive funding next year.
