A Hot Week for Central Wisconsin

Monday, August 26th, 2013 -- 9:12 AM

-We're in for another hot week in Central Wisconsin.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for much of western Wisconsin and eastern Minnesota.

Counties included in the advisory include Clark, Jackson, Taylor, Trempealeau, Eau Claire, Chippewa and more. The advisory began at noon yesterday and is set to remain active until midnight Tuesday.

A heat advisory is issued when a stretch of hot weather is expected. In addition to high temperatures, humid conditions are expected as well.

According to the advisory from the National Weather Service, heat index values greater than 90 degrees are possible in the advised area today through Tuesday. The heat index value is a calculated figure that combines the actual air temperature with the humidity, and offers a "feel-like" temperature when considering the combination.

A cold front is expected to slip across the state later on Tuesday, but it will only provide mild relief from the heat as temperatures are still set to remain warmer than average.

The normal daytime high temperatures for this time of year are mid 70?s. The forecasted high for today is expected to reach the low to mid 90?s.
