Representative Scott Suder Announces His Resignation from State Assembly

-Representative Scott Suder, Majority Leader of the Wisconsin State Assembly, will be leaving the Wisconsin Assembly.

Suder has accepted the position of Division Administrator for the Division of Water, Compliance, and Consumer Affairs. The transition will begin once the representative has vacated his position in the assembly.

Representative Suder was first elected to the State Assembly in 1998 and has been a part of a number of committees culminating in his election in 2010 to the Majority Leader's office.

Representative Suder released a statement to announce his leaving. The first paragraph reads: ?Today I am announcing my retirement from the Wisconsin State Assembly. After fourteen years of proudly serving the 69th Assembly District, I will be stepping down on September 3rd to pursue an opportunity in Governor Walker?s Administration. I want to thank my constituents for entrusting me to represent their best interests as a member of the state Legislature. I look forward to serving citizens all across the state of Wisconsin in Scott Walker?s Administration.

Governor Walker released a statement as well: ?Representative Suder has long served the residents of Wisconsin,? Governor Walker said. ?The Public Service Commission will benefit from his talents and experience. I thank Representative Suder for his work in the Legislature and I look forward to being able to work with him in this new capacity.?

The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin is the state regulatory agency that oversees the public utility industry and sets the rates that Wisconsin ratepayers pay for access to their public utilities.
