Memorial Medical Center's Physical Therapy Deparment Recognized for Excellent Service

Monday, August 5th, 2013 -- 10:44 AM

-Memorial Medical Center?s Physical Therapy Department has been honored with WEAU?s Sunshine Award for their excellent service.

Darci Mahoney, Rehab Manager for MMC, has been at Memorial Medical Center for a total of 8 years now with 23 years of occupational therapy management experience. She became the rehab manager of MMC in July.

Darci told me about the different services the physical therapy department has to offer and who can benefit from them.

"Just about anyone who has any type of pain can benefit from our services. We even have some pediatric services too," said Darci.

Memorial Medical Center was nominated for the award by Jo Ann Wren.

"Jo Ann was a frequent flyer," Darci joked. "She had multiple surgeries here which required her to have a lot of therapy. She got to know our department for a long period of time. Thankfully, her surgeries and therapy went very well. She herself is a wonderful lady. She may have given us our reward, but we were rewarded by providing services to her. She's a very unique and wonderful lady.

Darci believes that being a part of a close knit community like Neillsville is what allows them to be so successful.

"I think our success relies on the fact that we are all interconnected in our community at some point," Darci said. "These our are, if they're not our friends, grandparents, neighbors, or family, then they are somebodies that we know. With that connection, it's hard to stay neutral. You want to go that extra mile because that's what you would want done with you family."

Congratulations to Memorial Medical Center?s Physical Therapy Department on their excellent service.
