ATV Death In Jackson County

According to the Jackson County sheriff?s department a male rider died on Thursday in the eastern part of the county after his all-terrain vehicle crashed into a tree.The sheriff?s department report said the rider was on Forest Road 200 in the town of City Point about 1:54 p.m. when he lost control of the ATV and struck the tree.
The male, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the site. He was visiting the ATV Trail System from out of state.
An autopsy is scheduled.
