Funds and Projects Discussed at Owen City Council Meeting

-Funds and other projects were discussed at last week?s Owen City Council Meeting.

The council approved a budget amendment which would move $10,000 from Sidewalks Outlay to the Curb and Gutter Outlay. The adopted amended 2012 Budget for Owen remains at $1,171,038.00.

The Family Dollar store, being built in Owen, has a wetland issue and would like to acquire more land to the west of the original site. Also, the Railroad responded with their proposal to the city in acquiring railroad property in Owen.

The car show for Owen will be held August 17th and the first free movie night was held Thursday of last week.

The Parks & Rec. committee met on June 5th. Discussions took place regarding the poor draining at campsite #2 on the south end and several picnic tables need maintenance.

The Mill Pond Park buildings need to be re-roofed and the city is looking for volunteers. Pricing will be obtained for metal and materials.
