Fatal Car vs. Train Crash in Unity

-There was a fatal car vs. train crash in the Township of Unity on Tuesday.The crash occurred just after 9am on Tuesday morning on Century Road just east of Basswood Avenue.
According to an initial investigation by the Clark County Sheriff?s Department, a 1994 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Charles Podbelsek, age 81 of Spencer, was traveling east and approached the railroad crossing.
Podbelsek did not stop at the crossing and he stuck a Canadian National Train traveling south. The vehicle was thrown south of the crossing and landed on its roof. Podbelsek was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the crash continues and the Spencer Fire and Ambulance and Wisconsin State Patrol assisted at the scene.
