Korean Stone Placement Ceremony at The Highground

Monday, June 10th, 2013 -- 8:30 AM

-On Saturday, June 8th, the annual Korean Stone Placement Ceremony took place at The Highground to honor those who served in ?The Forgotten War?Korean War?.

With the Rice Paddies full, the Korean Honor Stones continue to fill the inside walkway wall around the tribute.

It was a wonderful day with many friends and family joining together to remember, honor and speak about their Korean Veterans. Many brought information for their portion of the Registry Books that tell the story of the remarkable men.

The stories are full of information the men endured and their lives today. The Tribute depicts, Cold, Heat and Anguish through its three bronze figures, as these were the conditions that made living and fighting in Korea an unending nightmare.

The figures are on granite slabs shaped liked the peninsula of Korea in the midst of the Ying-Yang circle, the symbol on the South Korean Flag. Water surrounds the peninsula emphasizing the distance these men are from home, friends, and family.
