UPDATE: Car Strikes Greenwood Ambulance, Sends 4 to Hospital

Sunday, June 9th, 2013 -- 7:15 AM

-A car struck a Greenwood Ambulance vehicle early Saturday morning.

The accident occurred just before 4am at the intersection of H and 73.

According to a preliminary investigation by the Clark County Sheriff?s Department, a car traveling west driven by Kevin Colby, age 35 of Loyal, along with his passenger, Angela Colby age 35 of Loyal, went through the stop sign and struck the Greenwood Ambulance. The ambulance spun and overturned, sliding down the road on its side.

The driver of the ambulance, Delmond Horn, age 46, of Greenwood was not injured. EMT?s in the back of the ambulance, Roberta Hansen, age 50, of Greenwood and Denet Oldham, age 48, of Greenwood, both received injuries. The ambulance was returning from a call so no patient was in the ambulance at the time of crash.

Both Colby?s and the EMT?s in the back of the ambulance were transported to Ministry St. Joseph?s Hospital in Marshfield. Both Hansen and Oldham have been released from the hospital as well as the Colby's.

Kevin Colby was arrested on suspicion of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated.

The Neillsville Fire Department, Neillsville Ambulance Service and Wisconsin State Patrol all assisted at the scene. The investigation is continuing by the Sheriff?s Department and State Patrol.
