Meford Man Makes Court Appearance for Fraud Charges

-A Medford man made a court appearance for fraud charges in Taylor County Court on Tuesday.Nicholas Johnson, age 20, is charged with several counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, identity theft and misappropriate use of an ID. The charges vary from misdemeanors to felonies. Johnson initially had over 60 counts of identity theft filed against him, but due to deals reached, that number has been reduced.
The incident allegedly happened while Johnson worked at the AmericInn hotel in Medford late last year. Johnson allegedly used customer credit card numbers to pay tuition and insurance bills.
Johnson did enter a not guilty plea to all the charges and if the court proceedings stay the course, he will go before a full jury in August.
