Wednesday, May 29th, 2013 -- 8:55 AM

-A Medford girl accused of lying to officials about a bomb threat at the Medford School District made an appearance in Taylor County Court on Tuesday.

The 17-year-old allegedly lied to school officials back in February saying she had overheard a bomb threat in the girls? bathroom at the district.

As a result over 72% of the student body at Medford was absent on February 22nd. She was arrested on that Friday and charges of obstructing an officer and bail jumping were filed against her.

The student entered a plea of not guilty to the charges and a 1000 dollar signature bond was set against her. As an added condition to her bond, the court ordered that she live with her mother in Hurly.

The student failed to show for a court appearance last week and a bench warrant had been issued. That has been removed after her lawyer explained the absence.

A signature bond was adjusted several times between last week and yesterday and it currently stands at $100. Also, terms of her bond state she is not to have any contact with certain people and she must stay in the state of Wisconsin. However, she is being allowed to leave to live with her grandfather in Michigan.
