Neillsville School Board May Report

The Neillsville School Board approved some employment matters and heard administrative reports at their meeting last week.

The board approved the resignation of Jody Volkman, a science teacher. They also approved the retirement of Wanda Jennings, a teacher?s aide for 17 years.
The board also approved the hiring of Tammy Matson as the Head Volleyball coach.

During the meeting last Monday, the board heard a report from Tim Rueth, Elementary Principal. Rueth mentioned several demonstrations and the upcoming Spring Concert. He also talked about enrollment in the new two part Summer School, the first part in June, the 2nd in August. Craig Anderson, High School Principal, gave the Junior/Senior High report as well. He mentioned Neillsville?s successful prom and the $91,000 given out in scholarships. Anderson also talked about the new Parent School Connection Group which is an initiative started as Neillsville is considered a focus school. Finally, John Gaier, Superintendent, mentioned a recent panel he was a part of talking about standing for schools in a democracy. He also talked about energy savings the district has had.
