County Board gets Register of Deeds Report

Saturday, May 25th, 2013 -- 10:29 AM

The Clark County Board of Supervisors heard several reports at their meeting on Tuesday.

Peggy Walter, Register of Deeds for the County, gave the 2013 annual report. The Register of Deeds office saw an increase in revenues and expenditures for 2012. In 2012, the county revenue for the office was just shy of $294,000, the state revenue was just over $256,000 and the expenditures was just over $264,000. Everything did increase from 2011. Part of the expenditure increase was due to the digitizing of records in the Deeds office and the creation of the new online portal for the office known as LandShark.

There was an increase in real estate recordings due to many people refinancing their homes. The revenue brought in increased close to $1,500. Birth records, death records and marriage records all dropped for 2012.

Peggy also thanked her staff for all the hard work they put while she transitioned into her new position and the new portal and digitizing of records.
