New Info on Thorp Man Accused of Sex With a Minor

-We have some new information on the Thorp man that was arrested for having sex with a minor.Scott Bergman, age 44, who was an assistant track coach at the Thorp High School, was arrested for having sex with a 17 year old student last November. After he made bail, he was arrested again in March for continuing to see the student.
As of now, Scott has several charges filed against him including sexual assault of a student by school staff, two counts of sex with a child age 16 or older, possession of child pornography, and two counts of felony bail jumping.
Bergman had initially volunteered as an assistant coach with the boys and girls track team at the Thorp School District and was officially hired in 2010. He only worked with the track team and was never a teacher.
During the course of the investigation, nude photos and partially nude photos of the 17-year-old girl were found on Bergman?s cell phone. He had also expressed his love for the girl via text message. Sexual encounters with Bergman had been described in the girl?s diary.
Bergman did plead not guilty to all the charges filed against him at a recent court appearance. He has also requested a new judge for his case with the hopes the new judge will be ?less strict.? Future court proceedings will be presided over by Judge Todd Wolf from Wood County.
