Area Schools Receive Great Scores in National Survey

-Some area school districts performed very well in a National survey.

On the national level, U.S News reviewed over 21,000 U.S. public schools with 113 Wisconsin Schools making the list. In Wisconsin there are 374 districts, 459 high schools, 17,553 full time teachers and 276,349 students enrolled. Wisconsin also has a graduation rate of about 90%.

In the rankings, on the state level, 46 Wisconsin Schools earned silver medals and 66 were awarded bronze. The rankings are figured out by looking at student to teacher ratio, college readiness, math proficiency and reading proficiency.

Two schools ranked high on the state list. Marshfield came in at number 3, earning a gold medal and Greenwood is 39, earning a silver medal. On the national list Marshfield is 614 and Greenwood is 2,038.

Other area schools recognized for scoring a bronze medal include Loyal, Black River Falls, Thorp and Stanley-Boyd.
