Clark County DNR Spring Hearing and Conservation Congress, Part 2

Wednesday, April 10th, 2013 -- 8:15 AM

-Fishing regulations were discussed at the DNR Spring Hearing and Conservation Congress in Clark County on Monday evening.

A DNR game warden went through 32 questions regarding different regulations and rules when it comes to fishing in various bodies of water in the state of Wisconsin. Those in attendance simple had to answer yes or no, in the book that was provided to them, if they were in favor or against the possible future regulation.

There weren?t many of the possible new regulations regarding fishing rules here in Clark County, but there were question brought up about several county residents present.

A letter had been sent to Mike Hayes regarding question 13 which dealt with bag limits on various fish in Columbia County.

Also, a resident brought up the regulation regarding ceded territories and the spearing of fish. The resident said that the large number of fish that are speared causes the length of the fish caught, on whether or not you can keep it to increase. His problem was that the fish population doesn?t increase because of the spearing and regular anglers have to catch bigger and bigger fish in order to keep them.
