2013 Clark County Education Summit, Part 1

-The 2013 Clark County Education Summit was held on Thursday at the Greenwood High School.

The summit was an opportunity for the local school district administrators, board members, teachers, business leaders, community members and more to connect, learn, and discuss the future of education in Clark County.

The summit started with presentations from students from several local school districts.

Abbotsford demonstrated book trailers that were done by the 7th and 8th grade class using technology to put together trailers, using different images and music, for a book the class was reading.

Loyal demonstrated their Rube Goldberg Machine that used 76 steps to hammer a nail and Greenwood provided a glimpse of the activities they do during the Spring Medieval Banquet.

Neillsville described the National History Day projects they do and Granton showed Science videos that were made using the district?s iPads.

Owen-Withee gave a presentation regarding their new revamped Ag and Tech Ed classes, highlighting the opportunities their curriculum can open for students in future jobs, and some Thorp FFA members presented a mock board meeting regarding some important decisions the Thorp School Board will be voting on soon.
