Standoff in Stanley on Thursday

-A standoff that occurred on Thursday in the City of Stanley ended with a suspect in custody.The situation started with a domestic dispute at a home in the city. According to the Stanley Police Department there was an altercation between a boyfriend and girlfriend in the home. The girl did get out, but he stayed in the home.
There were reports of shots fired in the house and a tactical team tried to get the man to come out of the house by negotiating through a bullhorn.
Finally, four hours after the situation started, the team fired tear gas into the home and the suspect gave himself up.
Neighbors had been evacuated from their homes and the street had been blocked off when the situation started.
Nobody was hurt in the incident and the 23-year-old is currently being held in the Chippewa County Jail.
