Governor Walker Talks Budget at Marshfield Clinic

-Governor Scott Walker stopped at the Marshfield Clinic on Thursday to talk about budget initiatives.The Governor said he will include $3.75 million for cancer research and treatment in his 2013-15 budget proposal.
The funding will help provide new and top of the line imaging technology at the Marshfield Clinic.
Walker also said, ?Patients in rural areas will see improved access to cancer treatment as a result of the partnership.? He continued saying, ?Cancer is by far the state's most deadly health issue. Someone dies nearly once an hour from cancer in the state of Wisconsin.?
Walker also said during Thursday?s announcement ?This fits with an announcement we made earlier this week where we're putting more money in to train medical students? in rural areas through Medical College of Wisconsin and UW-Madison programs.
