Friends of the Fairgrounds Committee Meeting, Part 2
Thursday, January 24th, 2013 -- 8:28 AM
-The Friends of the Fairgrounds Committee picked out several key projects that need to be done at the Fairgrounds during their Monday meeting. Some of those projects include simple things like painting and landscaping to more complicated things like replacing posts, taking care of culverts and signs, and flooring work.
A suggestion was made to see if local groups like FFA, 4-H and others would want to work on the simpler projects.
?The fairgrounds should be treasured,? said Sheila Nyberg, Executive Director of the Clark County Economic Development Coorporation, ?the place should be seen as an opportunity for more tourism for the county.?
Amy Jahnke, Interim CNRED Educator of Clark County, suggested a tradeoff and have an outside group look at our fairground.
?In this case, we would have a small group go to another County, look at their fairgrounds, then critique it. Then a group from the other county would do the same for us.? The idea was approved of, but no further action was taken on it.
