Histroic Preservation Commission Report 1 at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council heard a report from the January 14th Historic Preservation Commission Meeting on Tuesday night.

The Hediger House and the Neillsville Water Standpipe were approved for the local landmark registry.

The board then decided to hold a public hearing on the Hediger House and the Neillsville Water Standpipe on March 4th.

The commission also received a status update on the Christie building. A hearing will be held in Clark County Court with Judge John Finn on March 5th at 9:00am.

They then decided to nominate the August Snyder Clothing Store, or the Christie building, for the local landmark registry. A nomination will be written by Stacie Campbell as decided by the commission.

A request was made to consider the Lowe Brothers building for landmark status. Stacie Campbell will write a nomination for the Lowe building as decided by the commission.

They also continued to discuss the update to the walking tour brochures. They discussed homes included, layout, and a brochure vs. booklet. More will be decided on that later.

The commission also discussed their projects which include the update to the historic walking tour brochure, a calendar, and coloring contest for Heritage Days.
