Another Short Meeting for the Neillsville City Council

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2013 -- 8:22 AM

-It was another short meeting for the Neillsville City Council on Tuesday.

Dave Flynn, Director of Public Works for Neillsville, gave a brief synopsis of work done since the last meeting.

Burials and snow removal were done in the cemetery as well as equipment maintenance and snow removal in the park.

The public works crew also hauled brush and compost piles, maintained lighting, replaced and maintained signs in the city, removed snow and ice form streets, picked up curbside rubbish, and trimmed trees and bushes.

The council heard a report on the January 9th Heritage Days Committee Meeting. Three bands were offering to play at Heritage Days and the committee approved the hiring of the Shady Glen Band to play on Saturday night.

The Neillsville Heritage Days pottery has arrived and was presented. The cost is 40 dollars each and they can be bought at Mid-Wisconsin Bank, Living Well, and WCCN.

Finally, Mayor Mabie said he had a contact for Alice in Diaryland to come to Heritage Days and the committee will continue to pursue that opportunity.
