IT'S COLD!!

-For those of you that haven?t heard it?s going to be bitter cold today and tomorrow.There is a wind chill advisory in affect for our area through noon on Tuesday. Temperatures today are not expected to climb above 0 degrees.
There are simple things you can do to protect yourself from the cold. If you have to be outside, you'll want to limit physical activity and cover yourself from head to toe. You only have to be out in the cold for 15 minutes to show signs of hypothermia. Some of those symptoms are uncontrollable shivering, slurred speech and confusion.
And then there's Frostbite which is irreversible. Signs of frostbite are red or very white skin, frozen skin, and skin that's cold to the touch. Frostbite can occur on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. If you show any of these symptoms, you'll need medical attention immediately.
Meteorologists say that if we had more snow, the temperatures would be even colder.
So far, no official deaths have been caused by the extreme cold. However, an Illinois woman in Lafayette County was found dead near her car on Sunday which, authorities believe, was due to the cold.
