-The influenza virus has a strong grip on the Neillsville area. The Neillsville school district cancelled all sporting activities and after school activities through Saturday to try and reduce the spread of the virus.
The Clark County Health Department strongly recommends that you receive a flu shot. Robert Leischow, a health officer at the health department, said, ?Getting your flu shot is as much about personal protection as it is about community protection. It?s up to all of us to do the right thing.?
Robert also said that people must practice good hygiene to make sure the virus doesn?t spread.
The Memorial Medical Center wants to remind residents that they do have flu shots available. You can make a quick call and stop in for a same day appointment to get your flu shot for a reduced cash price. You don?t even have to see a doctor, and they will make it as fast, convenient and as painless as possible.
If you haven?t taken the time yet this year, please stop in, as MMC wants to help you avoid this year?s flu outbreak.
