New Family Dollar and More Discussed at Owen City Council Meeting

-A Family Dollar, pay requests, and more were discussed at the Owen City Council Meeting on Tuesday.The tax incremental districts of three and four were designated as distressed. The council also amended several project plans.
The city approved a pay request to a local construction company that will be doing the waste water treatment upgrade for Owen.
The city is also moving forward with the hiring process of their new police chief. Pending background checks and making sure the individual has all the required testing completed, the city is prepared to make an offer, but they are not releasing a name at this point.
Finally, the city went over the paper work and other negotiation being made by the Family Dollar as Owen will soon have construction on the new business started. The council expects the ground breaking to be this Spring.
