Barn Fire in Jackson County

-The Black River Falls Fire Department responded to a barn fire in Jackson County on Monday.The barn was located on Hill Road in the Town of Irving.
On arrival, a milk house attached to a barn was on fire, but it was held to the milk house area saving the barn, but the milk house was completely destroyed.
There was no milking going on in the barn at the time, but there were young animals housed in the barn, but they were not harmed.
The exact cause is not known, but it is suspected that a space heater used to keep the pipes from freezing or an electrical outlet issue may have been the cause.
The department was on scene for 2.5 hours and was assisted on the scene with water tenders and firefighters from the Melrose, Taylor, Hixton and Merrillan Fire Departments.
There were no reported injuries during the incident.
