Clark County Budget Approved

-The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved the 2013 budget at their recent Board of Supervisors Meeting.Clark County residents will be paying a little more next year. After a 26-3 vote, the budget of 57.021 million dollars was approved.
This means that county taxes will increase 5 dollars per 100,000 dollars of evaluation. With the mil rate applied, the county tax amount will be 750 dollars per 100,000 dollars of valuation.
An amendment was added to the budget. The personnel committee budget was cut by 10,000 dollars in order to reflect a decrease in the fee for a consultant to perform a classification and wage tax study for the county.
The board also passed a 190,000 dollar reduction in income from the Forestry and Parks Department as they figure they will not receive a grant.
The Clark County Economic Development Corporation and Tourism Bureau had asked to not have their budget reduced; giving instances of the good they've done for the county.
Others also pitched in support for the CCEDC and Tourism Bureau, but their budget was reduced by 12,000 dollars.
