City of Neillsville Approves 2013 Budget

Friday, November 23rd, 2012 -- 10:05 AM

The Neillsville City Council approved the 2013 budget at the recent City Council Meeting.

The city held a public hearing for the budget, however no comments or concerns were voiced so the council voted unanimously to approve the budget.

The budget comes to $3,201,282 with a contingency line item of $78,080.

After other revenue items are applied, the net city property tax levy comes to $1,072,855. This translates into a city mill rate of 9.573 per thousand of valuation or $957.30 on a property valued at $100,000. This budget is consistent with previous years.

The council also heard from Dave Flynn regarding the work being done to the city. Dave went over the usual cleaning that is done this time of year and also informed the council that the Christmas decorations are up and will be lit November 26th.

The board also accepted to have three parties, that made a bid on a couple of dump trucks the city is trying to get of, to rebid and the highest bid will receive the trucks.
