Rezoning at Recent Neillsville City Council Meeting

-Rezoning was done at the recent Neillsville City Council meeting.Back in October, the Planning Commission received a request from Dr. Shoalb Sheikh to convert his existing private property, on 1105 E. Division St, into a private medical office. This would mean that the City Council would then need to approve his property from residential to commercial.
Dr. Sheik showed the council a copy of the plans with a layout for the building. Certain walls would need to be moved and doors widened. He would also need to provide disabled access and more parking in front of his home.
The doctor said he plans to have 4 employees at the facility and will continue further work soon, but is waiting on insurance. He will then make sure he is medically complaint. He said that if this office is successful he wants to expand into surrounding communities.
The Planning Commission did approve to have the zoning amendment brought up before the City Council.
The Council held a public hearing regarding the rezoning. One resident, a neighbor of the doctor, did express some concerns about property lines and the landscaping, or appearance, of the building.
The Council saw no problems with the plans and the rezoning was approved.
