New Bus Purchase Approved at Neillsville School Board Meeting

-The Neillsville School Board met on Monday evening.The board did approve the purchase of a new school bus. The bus is a 2014 model and it was bought for 79,980 dollars. John Gaier, District Administrator, said that this bus meets all the emission standards needed for it to be on the road.
The board also approved some curriculum changes and updates to Social Studies, Language Arts/English, and Business Education.
A 2.29% salary increase was approved for the teachers as well.
The hiring of a 7 hour and 4 hour teaching assistant was approved. The 7 hour assistant is Michelle Mitte and the 4 hour assistant is Gloria Hamm, who retired from Neillsville recently.
The resignations of Rollin Opelt, the Middle School Wrestling Coach, and Tammy Matson, the High School Volleyball Coach, were accepted by the board.
Finally, the board moved its regular December meeting to December 18th rather than the 17th, due to conflicts with other events.
