Fall Sports and Commendations Discussed at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

-The Fall sports wrap up and several commendations were discussed at the recent Owen-Withee School Board meeting.Brian Lewison, Owen-Withee Dean of Students, did a recap of the fall sports season including boys and girls cross country, volleyball and football. All three had very good seasons and should be very proud of the things they accomplished this year. Brian reported that over 45% of the student body in the high school was involved in a fall sport.
Bob Houts, District Administrator, reported on the success of the One-Act play and their path to state.
The Board unanimously approved a resolution of commendation for the fall co-curricular activities. The successes these groups have had on the course, court, field and stage and in the classroom and community have been tremendous. The Owen-Withee Board members agreed that they had a lot to be proud of.
The Board also unanimously approved a Resolution of Commendation for Al Guthman for his 36 years of dedication to the District and the girls? basketball program and his induction into the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame on October 13.
Finally, The Board unanimously approved a resolution of commendation for Rick Eloranta for his commitment to the District, CESA 10, the WASB, and for his selection by the Wisconsin Rural Schools Alliance as Rural Board of Education Member of the Year.
